Hair Follicle Testing is a sample of hair used to identify specific drugs used by the person tested.  A hair follicle test measures the drug molecule and their specific metabolites that are produced only after the drug has been consumed/processed by the human body and trace amounts are inserted into the hair follicle by the bloodstream whether a substance is ingested, orally, smoked, snorted or injected.

A standard hair follicle screen covers a period of approximately 90 days, but is susceptible to time variation depending on the growth of your hair.  The hair sample is cut close the scalp as possible and 1.5 inches are tested.  It is possible to test further back than 90 days, if requested, but the standardized to a 90 day history.

The types of drugs tested are Cocaine, Marijuana, Opiates (Codeine, Morphine & Methamphetamines), and PCP.  These five drugs are mandated for testing by the Federal Government.

Hair Follicle testing is more effective than urine testing.  Hair can be collected from any part of the body for testing should the head hair length not be long enough to obtain the 1.5 inches needed, as required, for confirmation.  In rare cases where no hair is collectable, complete urine/adulteration testing may be utilized.
